Commercial Concrete Services

Concrete curbs, sidewalks, ADA ramps, dumpster pads, bollards, and full concrete parking lots — built for Chicagoland freeze-thaw with air-entrained mixes engineered for our climate.

20+Years Servicing Chicagoland

Commercial Concrete Services

We self-perform commercial concrete work as part of every paving project — and as standalone scopes when concrete is the right material for the job. Curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ADA ramps, dumpster pads, bollards, light pole bases, decorative concrete, and full concrete parking lots are all in our wheelhouse.

Curbs, Gutters, and Aprons

Concrete curb-and-gutter is the structural perimeter that holds asphalt in place and channels stormwater. We pour standard curb (B6.12), curb-and-gutter (M3.12), depressed curb at driveway aprons, and rolled curb where required. All air-entrained for freeze-thaw resistance.

Sidewalks and ADA Ramps

Commercial sidewalks (4 inches over compacted base) and ADA ramps (with truncated dome detectable warning surfaces) to current code. We handle replacement of failed walks, new construction, and ADA upgrades for older properties out of compliance.

Dumpster Pads and Heavy Pads

Dumpster pads take repeated heavy-truck pounding from waste collection. We pour 8-inch reinforced concrete pads with #4 rebar grid, control joints, and sloped drainage. Trash compactor pads, fueling area pads, and equipment pads built to the same standard.

Bollards and Site Accessories

Concrete-filled steel bollards protect bollards, dumpsters, and corners from vehicle damage. We install painted, sleeve-covered, or decorative bollards in concrete-filled foundations sized for impact loading.

Concrete Parking Lots

Concrete parking lots cost more upfront than asphalt but last 30+ years with minimal maintenance — making them the right choice for high-stress applications like distribution yards, fleet fueling areas, and certain industrial uses. We assess load requirements and recommend asphalt vs. concrete on every estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does commercial concrete last?
Properly poured air-entrained concrete in Chicagoland lasts 30 to 50 years with minimal maintenance. The big enemies are de-icing salt damage and inadequate air entrainment — we spec around both.
Do you handle ADA ramp work for older buildings?
Yes. Many older buildings have ramps that fail current ADA and Illinois Accessibility Code (slope, landings, detectable warnings). We assess and rebuild to current spec.
How long until concrete cures and we can use it?
Walking traffic: 24 hours. Light vehicles: 3 to 7 days. Heavy traffic / dumpster pads: 7 to 14 days. Full design strength: 28 days.
Can you match the color of existing concrete?
Reasonably close, yes. New concrete cures lighter than aged concrete and takes 6 to 12 months to weather to similar color. We can use integral color additives if exact match matters.
